Just beat it...

So I am relaxing after work on a glorious Tuesday afternoon, drinking pink lemonade and watching the American Idol episode from last night. It is pretty marvelous.

I finally can drive without fearing for my life that I will be pulled over and get in trouble for not having a driver's license! It was quite a trip, as the DMV had just moved locations (which I did not know) and I was making my best effort to not be late for work. I also forgot that they only take cash or check. Luckily I had $10 and then I found a dollar in quarters. :o) But my picture looks pretty weird--my hair didn't fit in it! It was pretty weirdly cropped. It'll take 5-6 weeks to get my actual license...I read online that they switched over to a new system which is causing some problems. I think I might need to laminate my temporary paper, or at least scan it just in case!

Well it is about time to leave for Sports Camp!! Only one more day after today, can't believe it's going by so fast!

I am very sad. Lauren and I were supposed to be driving to the ranch tonight and then to Brownwood tomorrow for Erin's wedding. Lauren called me this afternoon that her car was shuddering whenever she slowed down, and took her car to the shop to get worked on and wasn't sure when it would be ready. That was fine, we were taking my car anyway. Then, I was driving back from Houston visiting Mom for her birthday when my car's gauges froze where they were. I ended up taking Herman to the dealership in town and was told I'd have to come back Monday or Tuesday. Seriously? I must be spoiled by the amazing service department in Houston. Not everything was able to be fixed on Lauren's car, so we are stuck here. It's pretty annoying.

But I did have fun with my mom. :o)
I think I will always be a child at heart. Right now I am listening to HSM on my pandora radio station and surfing the web. I don't care what anyone says, I love it! Apparently Tyson doesn't though. We had agreed that our first dance at our reception would be "Can I Have this Dance?" from the third installment. He rescinded his offer. Lamer. I tried to make it look more appealing, by offering Miley Cyrus' "Hoedown Throwdown" and I think he guessed I didn't really want to open with a choreographed number such as that.

Today was date night with the tysonator. He drove in and met me at the movies to see Transformers 2. It was pretty long, but really awesome. I was kind of awestruck by all of the special effects and the knowledge that the people had to have to create such realistic robot destruction! We then went to Ninfa's and Starbucks, followed by the second installment of New Jersey reunion. Reality tv amazes me. I can't not watch. I've also noticed that I've picked up on the whole ask-yourself-a-question-and-answer-it syndrome that plagues the aforementioned cast and Kate Gosselin. It's becoming quite popular. For instance, Dina will say, "Does this mean we'll be best friends and go out to dinner tomorrow night? No." Or Kate will ask, "Do we do everything perfectly? Sooo no." I am trying to work it into my everyday conversational skills. No luck yet.

I've been reflecting over the deaths of MJ and Farah Fawcett, and it just reminds me that we're all another day closer to death. Nothing is guaranteed, and it makes me extremely grateful for life.

That's about it, today was my mom's birthday so I am driving to have lunch with her tomorrow and then to the ranch with Lauren to spend the night before going to Erin's wedding on Saturday! Busy weekend... Sports Camp starts Sunday evening and goes through Thursday so I will be probably be exhausted next week.

Oh and I killed a cockroach without running away or whining last night. Living by yourself has its disadvantages.

"So proud to be disheveled."

I'm so sleepy! Hopefully I can get to bed early tonight after blogging. I had a seminar at the GSC this morning so I had to wake up earlier than usual, which was not that awesome. I've also started the account spreadsheets for the next fiscal year and it's extremely monotonous. It's pretty sad because I come home too exhausted to craft :o( All of the sentences in this paragraph (with the exception of this one) begins with the letter I.

I've started to receive wedding catalogs in the mail and it's pretty fun so far. Today I got an invitation catalog. I bought the Anti-Bride planning book and it's pretty sweet and very practical.

Tyson and I are going to see Transformers tomorrow evening! I am pretty excited because we thought it came out May 22nd...but it didn't. It was fine because we saw Wolverine (which was pretty awesome), but it's made me super anxious for Transformers 2! I went and bought tickets yesterday while everyone else around me bought midnight showing tickets. Hopefully I do not lose them like I lost my driver's license. I cannot find it anywhere! It's pretty lame, because Texas redesigned the license and I don't think I want it yet. Oh well. I'd have to get one next year anyways because it expires and I'll have to change my name. But really, I hope I find it!!

I tried making coffee tonight. I was pretty excited, but I think my dad gave me the wrong proportions because it turned out looking like tea and all watered. So I need to figure that out. Well I am getting sleepy so that's all for now.

Hawaii in pictures!

Most delicious coconut shrimp ever!! (Shrimp Station on Kauai...go there. Now.)

We rode horses and then hiked to this waterfall. Breathtaking.

On Tyson's flight lesson. Apparently Mom only let me go because she thought he was going to propose in the air. He didn't.

It was so gorgeous. Dad took this while we were boogie boarding.

Tyson buried himself in the sand. I was taller for once!

Right after we got engaged! :o)

Lazy Sundays are the best! I went home Thursday night for the weekend to celebrate Father's Day and see friends who finally came back to Texas, which was super nice. I had to drive back this morning though, because I was teaching children's church at Central. It's been quiet and I like it! I made brownies but have been scared to try them...I've heard instead of oil, eggs, and water you can just put a can of black beans in and that makes them better for you. Maybe I won't tell Tyson anything and see what he says! Haha...

Speaking of Ty Ty, yesterday was our year and a half anniversary! Yay us! :o) I didn't get to see him this weekend, so I think tonight we're going to Outback, the location of our first date! I'm watching reruns of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, and I think he should note Teresa's husband when he said, "Happy wife, happy life!" Of course, he was talking about his wife's implants... so perhaps not.

I always wanted a Captain Planet ring when I was growing up. So today I pretended my ring was one that could call upon Captain Planet. I don't know what my power is though, so I couldn't say it out loud. I need to ponder that more.

Greetings from my couch!

Things are moving along... I found my dream photographer, only to find out that her son is graduating on June 5th :o( I'm still meeting with her though, as her associate photographers are available...we'll see! I was talking to Mom on the phone and she told me that it wasn't meant to be and my retort was "yes it was, she went to A&M!!!!!" which made her laugh.

I was driving home from work today and turning left at the light at Holleman and Texas. The light turned yellow while I was entering the intersection and I kid you not, the car in front of me slowed down so that I was still turning when it turned red. I know this because the space between this car and the car in front of them increased right when the light switched. Rude. If I get a ticket mailed to me, I will do everything in my power to fight it.

That's all for now, I think I am going to make some Father's Day cards!

My carbon footprint is the same as my age.

I love lunch time. Seriously, it's so fun. Usually everyone at work leaves to go home or out so Janie and I get to sit in quiet. Also, the food is awesome. I love sandwiches, whether they are toasted and cheesy in the form of a panini or a crisp sub from Subway. I can't believe panini isn't in Firefox's spellchecker. That is insane to me.

I got a new cookbook and it is pretty sweet. It's from the tv show "Cook Yourself Thin" and is based on the premise that you should eat a specific number of calories per day (your target weight x10). But all of the recipes are super filling and full of flavor, so it's fun. The only bad part is that I love juices and such and I never realized how many empty calories they had in them! It's pretty sad. Speaking of delicious juices, I must share that my favorite right now is an old concoction I had forgotten about: it's half raspberry tea, half pink lemonade. So great!

So apparently my carbon footprint is 22, and the average American's is 27. The world average per person is 5.5!! How crazy is that? I thought I was doing pretty well, but apparently not. But I won't give up meat just to reduce my footprint by 3.2.

We picked the location of our reception! I'm pretty excited. We only visited 2 places, but I really like what we chose. Hopefully it's a place everyone will enjoy and have a great time! :o)

:o)

I've got a few minutes at work before I leave, and I wanted to post a quick update. Hawaii was amazing--we rode horses, hiked to a waterfall, snorkeled, kayaked, flew in an airplane, got engaged...I think that's it. :o) I've also moved into my new apartment all by myself. Maybe I'll post pictures if I remember to. It was so much fun though! And Tyson was so sneaky :o) The only bad part is that now we are back and he is at his ranch a lot working on building a barn. So I won't get to really see him a whole bunch like I would prefer :o(

I promise I'll post vacation and some apartment pictures soon, but now it's Taco Tuesday!!
