Yum.

I want to go back to New York right now and try Popbar. I love gelato (at least I think I do...) and I love things on sticks so I'm certain I would be in dessert heaven. Although Tyson and I have an agreement not to consume desserts or chips until the wedding. Not that we've played by our own rules. Tyson's been to Los Cucos twice where I'm sure he stuffed his face with chips (I know I would!) and my mom made bean dip which is delicious upon a Tostito. But anyways. This looks amazing.

Who wants to go to New York with me?

Blogged!

One of my oldest friends Lesley posted a blog entry about our friendship. There are also some not-so-flattering pictures, but they made me laugh and represent some of my favorite times together. Here's the post. My old external hard drive crashed a few years ago that had clips of Lesley and I reenacting Center Stage while we were supposed to be supervising games at camp so it was nice to reminisce a bit.

17 days until Tyson and I get married! Crazy.

Cereal Girl

This was my favorite Sesame Street clip in the early 90s. Thanks to YouTube I can revisit my childhood whenever I want. Unfortunately, I realized some of my dance moves came from this. :)

Meet my Four-Legged Friends!

Meet Lazzy. He is so sweet and easygoing...until he sees someone walking down the street that he doesn't like!

Micah...my protector (from Callie, the garbage men, and children) and bed mate. He takes up more than his share but we're still friends. We bonded over our love of going back to sleep after breakfast.

Daisy is the queen of the castle. Sometimes she sounds like an angry bear if you make her mad. I don't get growled at anymore (I learned fast not to pick her up), but Callie is a regular recipient of her angry noises.

And baby Callie! She is a new addition to the family and still learning her manners. Her favorite thing to do is put her front paws on the first step in the pool with her back feet on the concrete and splash back and forth. She is really cute...when she's not jumping on me (wet or otherwise) or locking me out of the house.

They are some pretty funny dogs with big personalities...I am exhausted but having a great time with them! :)

My night as James Bond.

The trickster.

So dog sitting had been going pretty well--lots of relaxing by the pool, watching tv, playing, walks around the neighborhood...until last night at 9pm. It rained for hours yesterday afternoon/evening, and little Daisy wanted to go outside (but not by herself). Being a thoughtful dog sitter, I go outside with her in the rain and wait for her to do her business. Now Callie (who shall from now on be referred to as The Trickster) wanted to come outside too, but due to her romps in puddles in the preceding hours, she was denied access. I noticed her sulking by the back door but thought nothing of it. I dried Daisy off and went to come back inside...but the back door was locked.

Deadbolt locked.

Like I'm sure everyone does upon discovering that he/she is locked out (at least that's what I tell myself), I stand at the door and shake it and try twisting the handle different ways, hoping that it's just stuck. No such luck. The Trickster, in her hopes to be allowed passage outside, had somehow flipped the deadbolt just enough (it wasn't the whole way) so that I couldn't get in. And then she stood at the door, still hoping I'd let her outside. I didn't have any shoes on, my cell phone was inside, and my car was in the locked garage.

So in the midst of the lightning and thunder, I thought I remembered the owners saying they had a copy of the key on the front porch. Luckily I hadn't locked the gate from when the mowers came that afternoon. I ran to the front of the house, and of course I had forgotten to turn on the porch light when it got dark. So I crawled around on my hands and knees, trying to feel for a key everywhere I thought one might live. No luck. I looked around to see if any of the neighbors were home so that I could call my parents to bring the spare key. Of the neighbors I've made eye contact with in the past 2 years of dog sitting, none of them were home. Awesome.

I ran around back again, hoping that the defunct doggie door to the attached garage would allow me passage inside (I knew the door to the house inside was unlocked because I had used it earlier in the week). There was a burglar door on it, so I had to carefully slide it up so that I could crawl through. Of course, it was darker than dark as I felt my way across the garage that I've only been in three times. After what felt like 10 minutes, I finally found the door and got back inside. I finally let poor Daisy back in and The Trickster ran away and hid in the dining room for the rest of the evening. Very interesting night.

Has anyone else ever had to be creative from being locked out?

I'm a graduate! Again!

Well I am officially done with school and will be a graduate (again) on Saturday, assuming I passed my RPTS class. Since then I've been dog sitting and just relaxing. Also watching James Bond movies. Currently I'm watching On Her Majesty's Secret Service, which I've seen twice and still didn't remember a lot of it. It's a really good one though!

Speaking of dog sitting, all four of the dogs are passed out. Which is weird because they've been going nonstop since I got here Monday morning! A lot of playing did occur after lunch, so I guess they're just resting up for their next round.

How do you feel about dryers that play music when the cycle is done? I have never encountered such a thing (until now), and I must say, it makes me want to empty the dryer rather than just leaving the contents sitting for hours/days.

Yesterday I got sunburned because my dumb sunscreen was not as water resistant as it claimed. It's supposed to rain the rest of the week until I leave next Wednesday so I decided to lather up with new bottle my "Very Water Resistant" sunscreen and play in the pool again. I am not even joking when I came back inside most of my burn from yesterday on my arms was gone. Is that normal? I am very perplexed.

Brody keeps google chatting me because he misses me. I know it's him because he types in all caps. It makes me laugh. :)

Ok that's it for now. I need to go lay down or stretch or do something because I made up "water aerobics" exercises when I was in the pool earlier and sadly I'm really sore. And yes, I'm aware that old people do that as a form of exercise.
