Just another Manic Monday!

Tyson and I just bought a filing cabinet for important papers, and I was happy with it until I saw this blog post on painting a filing cabinet. But ours is black...would I have to prime it first? Is there a certain kind of paint to use? I might just have to go to Home Depot and ask someone. Maybe Tyson will donate one of his gift cards to my cute filing cabinet efforts...
Here's the before...hoping the after is much better! Sorry about the lighting, it's been really rainy and overcast today.
I'm also pretty proud of my menu planning this week...some recipes that are slightly more involved than last week and look yummy, so hopefully my cooking continues to improve. :o)

Monday: Baked Potatoes (of course)
Tuesday: Oven BBQ chicken, corn, & dijon + garlic new potatoes
Wednesday: Hamburgers & fries (so healthy, I know...)
Thursday: Polynesian Pork Chops, steamed sugar snap peas, & rice
Friday: Rosemary Bricked Grilled Chicken and probably more new potatoes (we just got some from my Paw Paw's garden and they look scrumptious!)
Have a great week!

I will never learn.

Sharp objects and I do not mix. My sophomore year of high school, I sliced my hand with a box cutter and had to get it super glued back together (I was supposed to get stitches but I told the doctor I was allergic to anesthetic--I didn't know there was a difference between local and IV.  Oops.). The day before my wedding, I nicked my thumb trying to use an apple slicer and had to go to the same doctor because it wouldn't stop bleeding. Luckily that just required some little tapey things--I can never remember what they're called.

Pardon the hair. That was the morning of my wedding; I was waiting to have my hair done.

This morning, I was cleaning one of the new knives in the block we got and got another finger. Boooo! Hopefully a doctor's visit is not required. I have a ginormous bandage and a Transformers band aid holding it together.

Is Bravo casting for Real Housewives of Houston?

...although I'm not sure anyone wants to watch me pet Brody all day. Just kidding. I'm keeping busy, but am still ready to find a job!

Cancun was amazing. Our resort was perfecto. We lounged on the beach...

We swam with dolphins...

We drank yummy drinks...

We ate DELICIOUS food...

A good time was had by all. :o) I highly recommend Excellence Playa Mujeres to anyone looking for an all-inclusive Mexican resort that does not allow children. The staff is incredibly hospitable, and the whole trip was just the most relaxing vacation I've ever had (minus the day we left the resort to go swimming). If anyone out there is going, say hi to Ivan at the Mexican restaurant, Agave. He is awesome.

In other news, our wedding photos were just posted online! Christine Tremoulet was our photographer (although she wasn't available that day, so Elaine and Kari were there and did a fabulous job!) and you can see the pictures on her website. Our date is listed as February 15th for some reason so it's a ways down on the page.

Something new for us is that I'm starting to cook for us every night. We had gotten into the habit of going out almost every night in College Station and cooking together maybe once a week as a fun activity. That is changing now! Of course we have our tradition of having baked potatoes on Mondays, so that makes it a little easier on me. This week we're having soft tacos, spaghetti, broiled salmon, and leftovers. We're starting off with easy recipes this week!

Ok I need to take Brody on a walk (he's been very lazy today) and get some organizing done before Tyson gets home so I look more productive than I really was today. Although I did check off quite a few items on my to do list today!

Mawied.

Greetings! We are back from Cancun and Brody is finally home with us! We don't have internet (or tv...not happy) right now, so I'm hoping to blog soon--right now I'm at the mercy of my parents' internet.

I will leave you with one of my favorite pictures from our wedding that Lesley took...long story.

I really enjoy this one too that Meredith got...

Yum.

I want to go back to New York right now and try Popbar. I love gelato (at least I think I do...) and I love things on sticks so I'm certain I would be in dessert heaven. Although Tyson and I have an agreement not to consume desserts or chips until the wedding. Not that we've played by our own rules. Tyson's been to Los Cucos twice where I'm sure he stuffed his face with chips (I know I would!) and my mom made bean dip which is delicious upon a Tostito. But anyways. This looks amazing.

Who wants to go to New York with me?

Blogged!

One of my oldest friends Lesley posted a blog entry about our friendship. There are also some not-so-flattering pictures, but they made me laugh and represent some of my favorite times together. Here's the post. My old external hard drive crashed a few years ago that had clips of Lesley and I reenacting Center Stage while we were supposed to be supervising games at camp so it was nice to reminisce a bit.

 New Year's Eve 2009

17 days until Tyson and I get married! Crazy.
