Get crafty :: happy bear

I survived/thrived on another first day of school yesterday. Favorite part? Hands down, when a few eighth graders came back at the end of the day to visit me.

I made this awhile ago, took pictures, and then was too lazy to upload the pictures. I just love looking at his happy face! He loves a good car ride.

Gettin' crafty :: silly sophie

Sophie has started loving Tyson. I'm thinking he's sneaking her treats when I'm not looking...

Spring Break. Sigh. One of my favorites. I started SB '13 out with new tires and grading at 9am. I would have procrastinated it otherwise though. This afternoon will include an inspection and I should probably clean out my car while I'm at it. It's kind of hairy (Brody) and full of water bottles and random papers. No menu planning this week since we are going to Vegas...I am pretty pumped. Instead, I need to clean, pack, and relax. :)

I made this several weeks ago and never took pictures of it...actually, I'm pretty sure it was rainy for two weeks and I forgot I made it.

Sometimes...I sing this song to her. I can't help it; it's so darn catchy!!

Gettin' crafty :: year 2

One of my favorite things (cue Fraulein Maria singing now) about our house is my craft room because I actually spend time making things now. Like this scrapbook page from last summer. Side note: I really need to print some new pictures. Other side note: it's nice having my own craft room because right now I can hear Tyson stomping around to "Eye of the Tiger" and inventing new lyrics.

Love, love, love this stamp! Both of them actually...but especially my little people. I was a bit self-indulgent with the double pink polka. Can't get enough.

 Does this make it triple pink polka?

Those desserts. Oh man. I am craving it as I type.

Did you know it is National Scrapbook Month? I think it's also National Frozen Foods Month, but I don't really celebrate those festivities. I inaugurated the month with a trip to Archiver's with the last of my Christmas money. Hopefully I can get even more crafty in the near future!

Gettin' crafty :: Dr. TyTy

Last weekend, while Tyson was frolicking at the ranch, I had some crafty time with my friend Ashli. I had been procrastinating making a page celebrating Tyson's doctoral graduation because I seriously love this photo of him and his dad and was worried I might not love the end result as much. I think I like it though. [I used my favorite wood veneer little person guy, Studio Calico yearbook, and a little Basic Grey oxford.] Yay!

Catching up...ish

How is it already Friday? My vacation is halfway over, and I am loving every minute of it! I've been sort of keeping up with my December Daily; I still have days 20-25 to finish up (hopefully next week). Here's a peek of how it's coming together...

December daily--Day 3

Just a quick share today! I didn't take any specific photos, as our grades were due today and I had a plethora of papers to grade. I grabbed a few instagram photos from my feed and will print it 6x6 next weekend if I get a chance. Nothing too crazy for a busy week day. I'm sure I'll have many more simple days ahead! :o)

December Daily--day 2

I have still not found my camera charger, but I did find a $20 bill in an old wallet, an unused Target gift card from our wedding (over two years ago), my old point and shoot AND its battery charger, my missing hot glue gun, and a Christmas ornament (which, interestingly enough, I needed to hot glue back together). I am starting to think my beloved charger got lost in the move. Boo.

I tried to take today's photos with my point and shoot...but that thing is not very crisp at all. I even took the same pictures with my phone and then the camera, and my phone's pictures were a tiny bit more clear. So there you go. The sad part was my camera was sitting right there, taunting me...

I miss you.
 8x8 day 2 that will slide into a page protector
 the little ♥ with the 2 makes me happy.
 Stamps from the Target $1 spot (or whatever they're calling it these days) on a plain sheet of vellum. I neglected to mention how utterly insane everyone was at Home Depot, but maybe that's a given. I thought it was worth mentioning that this is our first Christmas in the house (and, as a result, have very little Christmas cheer in the form of decorations right now).

I'm interested to see how I do keeping up with this project during the week when I'm getting home late. :o)

December daily--day 1

Disclaimer: I am so embarrassed to admit that after spending an hour looking for my camera's battery charger, I came up short...and moderately irritated. So I had to take today's photos with my phone. Lame.

So, at first I was just going to secretly make my December Daily project, but then I realized that without some accountability, I would probably not follow through. So I'm going to go ahead and post what I made today.

Cover--I'm using an old American Crafts 2 ring black binder. Boring.
 Just a little intro page.
I played with some new stamps, so fun!
I cut the top off my k-cup today and then just punched a bunch of circles. The patterned papers are from an old sheet of ornament stickers from Basic Grey. Seriously, they were ginormous. I think I've kept it for maybe four years.

Here's to hoping I find my camera charger quickly!

Vegas :: the mini album!

I've been working on a Vegas mini album on and off this summer...I still have work to do on it, but I figured I would share it since it's getting packed up in a box and will remain unfinished for several more weeks.

Vegas + Football

I added two more scrapbook layouts to my album today! With all the rainy weather last week, I finally got a little crafty.

I love scrapbooking grids.

I still think about this drink...it was delish.

 I don't like looking through my camera's viewfinder, so frequently I get lopsided fun.

I think I managed to make the football season look good...I decided not to comment on the subsequent losses.

Hopefully I can get some digital pages done this weekend! :o)

Summer goals

Back in May, I made a Summer 2k12 to do list. I have not gotten very far...

  • Seriously clean my car Done!
  • San Diego Well, that one was easy.
  • Organize school binders (I forgot to bring home my three-hole punch so that one is proving difficult)
  • Scrapbook 15 layouts (2 of 15 completed--see below!)
  • Take Brody to the park
  • Watch Gilligan's Island--all 3 seasons (I've only watched season one and two episodes of two)
Pretty sad. And rain is forecasted all week, so the park is out for now. Maybe I could just add more goals to my list so my ratio of completed to uncompleted goals looks better...

Apologies for the cell phone picture.

Every year I make a dog sitting scrapbook pages for their parents when they come home. Unfortunately, I realized that I have a tendency to go for blue and yellow. Oh well, it's summer-y. :o) See last year's digital page here. I also made a Vegas food page yesterday, but I forgot to take a picture.
