Routines...

are pretty big around here. I've been able to make my work schedule so that Fridays are free for me to stay home and catch up on homework assignments. One of my favorite things to do is watch Project Runway from the night before and make myself something for lunch. During the week I typically eat soup or a piece of bread (unless I cave to peer pressure and go out to eat!), so getting to make myself a healthy and balanced lunch is a treat. Today I made a delightful sandwich, which also happens to be my order at Subway. For me, simplicity is so sweet.

I like ranch. As if it wasn't obvious.

Routine is good. Time to get back to it.

Monday Musings

This weekend has been glorious. Tyson had a great time in Corpus, and ran in a 3k spontaneously. I think I would have to train for that, haha. I got some quality "me time," which was so nice. I cleaned (like real cleaning, not just sweeping up crumbs) my whole apartment, got to workout, wear pj's all day...and I did some research and homework too.

It has been such a wet day! I woke up sometime this morning to the sound of lightening crashing right outside my window (which was pretty scary), but I went right back to sleep. I love sleeping during storms. We barely got any rain this summer, and the fall has been pretty rainy lately. I enjoy it.

I've done almost all of my Christmas shopping. I still have some crafts to make for presents...I am making a mini-book for Tyson and another for my parents. I'm really excited, but I'm worried I won't have the time with school and everything. I have a paper due in 2 weeks. That's a scary thought. I feel the need to be productive now.

"I'm weird cause I hate goodbyes."

It doesn't happen that often, but I woke up this morning and just knew it was going to be a good day. I was actually a tad apprehensive, as I had a paper and assignment due tonight and hadn't started either. But it all got done, thankfully!

My mom came in town today! We were going to see Love Happens, but they canceled the showing so we went to Target and bought "bad-for-you-popcorn" and The Proposal and watched it at my apartment. An excellent time was had by all. I even got Tyson's birthday present taken care of! Crazy. The bad thing was that I bought seasons 1 and 2 of Alias on dvd. Which I already had. Sad, I know. But they had them packaged together for $30 and my old ones skip. Plus they repackaged them! My mom was laughing at me, but I told her I had to support Michael Vartan's career because he wasn't doing so well. Which made her laugh more. Fun times.

It's a quiet weekend. Tyson went to Corpus to visit college friends, and I'm taking care of Brody tonight. We took a nice walk in the park and now he's trying to eat a rope toy. We are watching Glee...seriously, he is looking at the tv and pricking his ears back and forth. It's pretty presh.

Bedtime.

Procrastination.

I am such a last-minute person. Never am I one to have a paper due more than a day before the due date, and sometimes it's more like a few hours. I actually have an assignment due Friday that I need to start, now that I think about it...

Anyways, I have done something crazy. I have already begun Christmas shopping. And the rest of the presents are already planned, I just need to figure out logistics and such (some require some craftiness!). It's very strange though.

Not really much of an update. I have some pictures I'd like to post, but I need to upload them first before that can happen. I should probably be in bed right now, as I have an 8am class tomorrow. I will pay for this tomorrow.

The internet is for...

I love youtube. I waste so many hours watching obscure videos because they are so entertaining.

I love his voice.

This is my favorite commercial ever.

I am constantly singing this!

JoJo got me hooked on these videos. They are all so great!

This is the best video of a baby dancing, hands down.

An assortment of thoughts.

There are a couple of things that I just really enjoy. White wine. Liquid gel ink pens. Owls. Cutesy pads of paper. And perhaps most of all, Top Chef. I have noticed though, that I enjoy the upcoming scenes from yet-to-be-aired episodes quite possibly the most. As such, I loved catching a peek at these stills from Bravo's website. My favorite is probably the 5th one, as you can see Tom wearing flip flops. So endearing!

In other news, Ali Edwards' Tuesday Tutorial caught my eye today. I was actually thinking last night that I wanted a few more magnets on my fridge, and I have several rolls of the magnet strips from making a post-it notepad for the fridge that can be used! Hizzah!

My puppy is the cutest.
And by puppy, I mean almost 90 pound monster.

right now I'm...

  • Hearing: the pitter-patter of Tyson typing an email and 60 minutes on the tv
  • Smelling: a hot apple pie candle that my mom bought this weekend from the Carriage Candle Company
  • Touching: my new fleece I bought at the Columbia outlet today
  • Seeing: how clean Mom keeps the house, I admire her ability to constantly do so!
  • Tasting: spinach and artichoke dip Mom made...delicious.
I had seen this done on other blogs and thought it might be a fun way to appreciate everyday life... it was!

I am so bad about updating the good 'ol blog. Improvement is much needed in this category.

Today was exhausting. It was the craft show at my home church, where I had a booth selling my cards. Even though I didn't sell too many cards, it was still a really great day. I had my mom and Lauren and Ashley there for support and it was very much a reminder of the importance of bringing a camera to capture life. I missed the look on Lauren's face when she got her first puppy all by herself (he's such a cutie!), and some pretty awesome candid shots of us all hysterically laughing. I took several mental shots though, a la Jim and Pam on the office Thursday night and the movie Elizabethtown.

I am desiring sleep. I'm sure you understand.

Thursday Thankfulness.

Flowers from Tyson. Fall-ish smelling candles. Inspiring blogs. Wine. Health. Technology working. Getting out of class early. Watching shows and lounging. Laughter.
